This March, all across the country, children and families put on their capes and masks and struck their best super hero pose to declare, “Books are my Super Power!”
To celebrate National Read-Aloud Month, Family Reading Partnership teamed up with the National Head Start Association and First Book to sponsor the “Books are my Super Power” Read-Aloud Challenge, a national effort to engage all families to raise awareness of the importance of read-aloud and to help all children grow up knowing that books are their Super Power!
Families enjoyed fun book and read-aloud activities; explored recommended books that illustrate the Super Powers of kindness, generosity, determination, and creativity; followed the Read-Aloud Challenge on social media to win fabulous book prizes; and best of all, connected with the joy of books and the power of read-aloud!
National Read-Aloud Month may only be March, but the power of read-aloud lasts all year long. You can access the Read-Aloud Challenge Tool Kit for fun and engaging read-aloud activities for your home or classroom any time, any place.
